A very different view this week!
The beautiful Isles of Scilly, a bit of a nostalgic trip as I was last here 40 years ago. It hasn't changed very much just a lot more cars. Lovely flight in an 8 seater plane thankfully not on the boat as the crossings have been a bit rough with all the high winds we're having.
It's lovely catching up with my old neighbours from Claverton Down the only problem is I thought I could go for a swim in the sea every day and have nice long walks! The wind have been so cold I'd probably have got hypothermia coming out of the water and the other problem is all the pubs and restaurants are only 5 minutes between each one!!! The views are amazing but even just to sit and watch the weather changing it can be very different from one hour to the next.
Seriously we have had some lovely walks around the coastal paths but the highest point on the main Island St Mary's is about a tenth of the height of the Yorkshire challenge I did the weekend before we came away. I think I will have to step up the training a bit when I get back!!
Hope you're all getting your teams together for the Darts and Skittles night Friday 21st August, Belvoir Castle, Lower Bristol Road, Bath. Will be a fun night.
Don't forget you can sponsor me via my Just Giving Page just click on the link at the right hand side of this page.
JUST BACK FROM A GRUELLING WEEKEND, THE THREE PEAKS IN THE YORKSHIRE DALES!!! CAN'T REMEMBER EVER BEING SO PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY EXHAUSTED, LOTS OF PICS BUT NEED TO GO TO BED NOW! WILL POST LATER IN THE WEEK.
Charity Auction postponed until early September.
Due to unforeseen circumstances I have had to make the difficult decision to postpone the Auction I will confirm the new date as soon as possible.
This week I have paid the final monies for the trip so there's no going back now! 10 weeks today and I will have done the first day of walking.
2 weeks today I will be back from doing the 3 peaks in the Yorkshire dales so I will know what I'm up against and how much fitter I need to be before I go.
Saturday my friend and I cycled through the 2 Tunnels that go from Oldfield Park under Foxhill and Combe Down and finished up at the Hope and Anchor at Midford and then had to cycle all the way back again, it was lovely and cool on a hot day and a lovely tranquil stop at the lake at Tucking Mill so will be going back with more time to spend enjoying the scenery.
Due to popular demand I am organising another Pub Games Night, not quite as many games this time as the logistics were a nightmare! Also the Fish and Chips bar is now open in the pub so you can get your supper! Get picking your teams and book the date for Friday 21st August. Posters and fliers will be ready soon.
